National Political and Security
During the year, the national security situation markedly worsened. Armed clashes took place across six states between government and opposition forces.
No noticeable efforts were made by the government to halt these hostilities. In fact, to a large degree, the government forces were the aggressors with a prominent general reported to be urging his soldiers to kill all the Nuer civilians: men, women and children.
Fortunately, the area where we work has not been involved and enjoys relative peace for now. Malnutrition and disease are major problems, made worse by conflict and increased flooding. Education Programs
One of our five students at the Nile Theological College graduated and is serving as youth coordinator for the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan (PCOSS).
Our partner, Pibor Presbytery (PCOSS), plans to add Theological Education by Extension (TEE) to its programs in 2026. Biblical literacy and understanding have improved markedly, and this program will further that success. We expect TEE to target older youth.
The Pibor Presbyterian Primary School continues to thrive with its teachers paid by our ministry. We continue to seek funding to pay the teachers at the Pibor Secondary School so that it can reopen.
Two students who recently graduated from their respective secondary schools in Uganda and Juba, South Sudan are returning to Pibor to serve their community.
Our Shalom Program supporting orphans’ education in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya is a need-based program which assists about 10 orphans each year.
We also continue to sponsor two South Sudanese young men who are obtaining a primary education and a secondary education in Uganda.
One of our Board Members is also sponsoring the education of four South Sudanese girls in Uganda. Two are attending primary school and two are in secondary school.
Advanced Education
We sponsor three university students majoring in subjects that will allow them to assist the development of their home communities. Upon graduation, each of these students intends to return to their hometown.
The overall education level in the Greater Pibor Administration is slowly improving.
Health
A building has been outfitted with furniture and provided with the necessary medical equipment to open the Midwife Clinic.
Our first Nurse-Midwife student whose training we sponsored at the Nurse-Midwife College in Juba, will arrive in mid-February 2026. We expect to markedly improve the health of the community and dramatically reduce maternal and infant mortality.
Peacemaking
Rev. James Zeelu, Moderator of Pibor Presbytery completed advanced studies in peacemaking which he is applying in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.
Formal Peace through Evangelism teams were organized in late 2023. Since then, additional teams with two leaders in each were organized in churches in four counties. They have trained about 120 youth leaders. The trainers are Pastors and evangelists.
Each year two of our college students go on a mission trip to train youth leaders in discipleship (including peacemaking), leadership, choir development, and church financial management.
The training brought together about 60 youth leaders from seven congregations in 4 communities. The youth leaders gained clarity on leadership roles, renewed spiritual commitment, and strengthened inter-church collaboration.
2025 was among the most peaceful years in the area for the past 16 years. We believe that our ministry in the area has contributed significantly to this through education, improved theology, and peacemaking.
Humanitarian Support
Because of starvation many women were malnourished and could not nurse their babies. Goats were provided to those women in Pibor.
Many came to Pibor after flooding caused them to be displaced from their homes. Families were provided tarps, shelter, blankets, cooking utensils, and ground covers.
Pochalla Mission Trip
Our Boma Assistance Group sent a team of five people to Pochalla, South Sudan for five days in mid-February. Our hosts in Pochalla were Othow Okoti (Commissioner of Pochalla South County) and the local Presbyterian church.
Major accomplishments were:
Talking Bibles (audio Bibles) in the local language were distributed with instructions for care and use.
Reading glasses and sunglasses were distributed.
We and the moderator of the Presbytery were able to meet with the local church leaders.
Our hydro-geologist evaluated the status of the installation of solar water system and determined it was poorly located and needed to be moved before completion
Assessed the farming methods and techniques and provided improved seed for sorghum. As always establishing personal relationships and joint prayer were highlights.

We are Grateful
While we are happy that we (includes you) carried out God’s Mission in South Sudan in 2025,
Nothing could be accomplished without you!
We thank you for your encouragement, prayer and financial support. It is difficult to properly express our gratitude. We especially thank the members of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, Trinity Presbytery, and our individual supporters.
We want you to know that thousands of people in South Sudan who have been positively impacted also thank you!
